What are the Police Explorers?

Law Enforcement Explorer posts help youth to gain insight into a variety of programs that offer hands-on career activities. For young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement, Exploring offers experiential learning with lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development of adolescent youth.

Law Enforcement Exploring is a work site-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are 14 years of age, or are 15 years of age but have not yet reached their 21st birthday.

This program teaches us leadership and team work. What happens is, we meet every two weeks for a meeting. We are allowed to go on ride a longs with the officers. At these meeting we go over different parts of the police job. As of right know we have 10 explorers. Right now there is one Captain, one Lieutenant, and two Sergeants

1.What is our mission, goal?

To help us prepare for life and understand the importance of a police officers life and duty. It also helps us learn team work and responsibility.

2.How do we raise funds?

Well we do not have a lot of money do to the fact that we currently do not have any dues, and we just bought some explorers new uniforms. We have been getting some fundraisers into motion, and we hope to earn a fair amount of money that way. We are a non-profit organization

3.Attendance policy.

We have a meeting every other Tuesday. You must attend every meeting, if you miss three 3 Unexcused you will be reviewed by the the post.We are allowed to go on ride alongs whenever it is convenient for us and the officers; but on school nights all home work must be done and you can only ride until 9 pm.

4.Personal qualities that are needed.

An explorer should have good manners, must be respectful and responsible to others. An explorer must also have a good sense of their surroundings and current affairs.

5.Community.

We interact with the community as much as possible. We get into a lot of community service and help out with local fund-raisers. As of right know we are in the process of beginning our own fund-raisers.

If you would like to donate please contact us at, mpdexplorers@yahoo.com, it would be greatly appreciated. Again, we are a non-profit organization.
